Somebody Got Married!

A couple weeks ago during the What to Wear to a Wedding series, I hinted that I would be going to a wedding in July.. and of course, by my last post, you could tell I was having a hard time deciding what to wear. I generally have A LOT of dresses. I don't tend to get rid of them or donate them, and I tend to buy a new one every time I need one.. which is bad. The thing is my dresses are either super casual, or a little too fancy.

After I posted the photo below, I just knew I wouldn't wear either of the choices. For one, the floral gown is strapless, and I can't stand strapless dresses on me. The black and white was a contender, but the straps were loose, and the red dress's material was made for winter wearing.

So I scoured by closet, and way in the back was the dress I decided to wear.. light material made for summer time wearing, a decorative neckline so I didn't have to decide what accessories to wear, and to be honest, I didn't care that it was black (I was told the bride didn't want her daughters to wear black.. but I'm not a daughter so I could, right?).

Anyways, I'm happy with my choice. What would you wear to a wedding?

P.S. I'm already ahead of the game with the next What to Wear! My friend, Jen, took the photos after we had lunch today. Also, after a few months and as requested by Samille, I finally was able to take photos of how I take care of my teeth with my Home Care routine.. that'll be up on Tuesday.

Dress: c/o City Chic (about a year old.. this one is a good option for the same look).
Shoes: Payless (old, but these and these are similar options).
Earrings and Bracelet: Charlotte Russe

  5. I really like the neckline on that dress. Ususally I wear what I'm told to wear to a wedding (either I'm in it or my more stylish sister helps pick my oufit since I'm pretty useless in the fasion department as you know). I'm trying to become more aware of such things and use your blog as guidence. I hope you had a good time at the wedding.

  6. I love, love the City Chic dress you wore! I have that same floral maxi dress. I love it, but I always end up wearing it with a shrug. Why won't they make maxis with a little sleeve?
