Festival of Trees
The Trolly Museum and Lackawanna County Arts and Culture department put on the Festival of Trees everywhere to benefit Toys for Tots. Area organizations and companies are asked to decorate a tree in the year's theme and are judged by a local committee (this year's was the Art of the Tree). The non-profit where I work decided to decorate one this year, so a group of us got together, came up with a concept and decorated. I have to say we did pretty well with ours (we bought all the items from the dollar store!), and we won People's Choice! Of course, we had like 10 employees there to buy up the People's Choice votes, but it still counts, right?! But Toys for Tots were the real winners of the night though. I'm glad we were able to support such a great foundation.
